Interim CEO Jared Smith explained that automotive revenue timelines vary, with some new licenses generating revenue within a year depending on the design cycle. He confirmed Samsung is licensed across its entire smartphone portfolio, not just high-end models. Regarding new markets, Smith noted that while haptics are appearing in appliances with touchscreens and would command higher ASPs than mobile, it is not a core focus, and significant revenue is not expected from that segment in 2021.
