Question · Q2 2026
Ashley Anne Owens inquired about the drivers behind the positive comparable store sales performance quarter-to-date, seeking details on traffic, transaction trends, and brand-level insights. She also asked about the company's promotional cadence for the back half of the year, considering tariff pressures and consumer behavior, and any brand-specific nuances.
Answer
Chairman and CEO Tom Chubb stated that positive comps were seen across all brands, with Lilly Pulitzer remaining positive and Tommy Bahama improving to flattish. He attributed the strength primarily to recovering traffic in July and August, while conversions and average order values remained strong. Regarding promotions, Mr. Chubb noted that the company plans to largely follow historical patterns, adapting as needed, and expects a higher proportion of business during promotional periods. CFO and COO Scott Grassmyer added that Tommy Bahama's Friends and Family sale was successfully shifted to August from early September.
