Aziza Fakhri's questions to Eastman Chemical Co (EMN) leadership • Q4 2024
Question
Aziza Fakhri of Fermium Research, on for Frank Mitsch, asked for details on the planned $50 million net cost reduction for 2025 and inquired about auto customer expectations for vehicle builds in the U.S. and Europe.
Answer
Executive Vice President and CFO William McLain detailed that the cost reduction plan is comprehensive, targeting operational complexity, yield improvements, MRO purchasing, and energy efficiency across all four segments. Board Chair and CEO Mark Costa added that while global auto builds are expected to be flat to slightly down, Eastman is creating its own growth through mix improvement and increased content per vehicle, such as in laminated glass.
