Question · Q4 2024
Bryce Sandberg asked about the potential impact of supply chain and labor disruptions at major shipyards on Curtiss-Wright's naval business, and whether these challenges create an opportunity for the company to take on more work.
Answer
CEO Lynn Bamford explained that Curtiss-Wright is largely decoupled from shipyard production flow due to the very long-lead nature of its equipment, which is ordered years in advance. While there isn't a direct impact, she affirmed the company is always positioned to take on new work if the Navy seeks to second-source suppliers. CFO Chris Farkas added that the company has other naval growth drivers, such as aftermarket services and international arresting systems, that are independent of new ship construction schedules.
