George Wynn's questions to CITIZENS FINANCIAL GROUP INC/RI (CFG) leadership

Question · Q4 2025

George Wynn, on behalf of John Pancari from Evercore ISI, asked for a breakdown of the Private Bank's projected loan growth for 2026 across different categories and how the loan-to-deposit ratio (LDR) is expected to trend in the Private Bank over the longer term.

Answer

President Brendan Coughlin detailed that Private Bank loan growth is balanced, with approximately one-third from C&I private equity-based lending, about half from residential and real estate (mortgage, granular multifamily CRE), and a smaller portion from other consumer products like HELOC and credit cards. Chairman and CEO Bruce Van Saun highlighted the strong credit discipline. Mr. Coughlin added that while the LDR is expected to remain stable in the 60-70% range for the next year, it could tighten to 80% in the medium term if rates decline, supported by a self-funding mechanism.
