Mayor Popuri's questions to Kulicke and Soffa Industries Inc (KLIC) leadership • Q4 2024
Question
On behalf of Craig Ellis, Mayor Popuri of B. Riley Securities asked if the weaker Q1 outlook was due to any unusual factors beyond seasonality. He also questioned if the recovery in the automotive and industrial segment is sustainable and has passed its trough. Finally, he asked for clarification on the end markets for the new TCB fluxless wins.
Answer
CEO Fusen Chen explained that the Q1 guidance aligns with typical seasonality, which has averaged a 10% sequential decline in recent years, and confirmed Q2 is expected to be stronger. He stated that the wedge bonder business for automotive is recovering and they are optimistic for 2025. He also reiterated that the TCB win is for critical, high-precision applications that could serve multiple future end markets like autonomous driving and HPC.
