Question · Q2 2025
Tianyu Liu from CITIC Securities asked for WeRide's perspective on competition in the Middle East and how the company differentiates itself from other players in the region.
Answer
CFO Jennifer Li responded that while WeRide wasn't the first to announce plans in the Middle East, it now operates the largest commercial Robotaxi fleet in the region. Key differentiators include being the first and only company to receive a national UAE permit, strong local partnerships with entities like Uber and TXAI, and being the sole operator in Riyadh and a primary one in Abu Dhabi. She emphasized that WeRide's standardized deployment playbook and proven ability to handle local challenges, like extreme heat, allow it to scale faster and smarter than competitors.
