Jacob Ma-Weaver

Jacob Ma-Weaver is the Portfolio Manager and Managing Member of Cable Car Capital LLC, an investment advisory firm based in San Francisco that he founded in 2013. At Cable Car Capital, he is responsible for supervising all investment activities and implementing the firm’s multi-strategy investment approach through its flagship vehicle, The Funicular Fund, LP.

His focus areas include U.S. micro-cap and small-cap equities, frequently across sectors such as healthcare, financials, and technology, with a particular emphasis on strong corporate governance and special situation investments. Prior to founding Cable Car, Ma-Weaver was an investment analyst at Amici Capital, concentrating on healthcare, an equity research associate at Dodge & Cox, and a corporate finance business analyst at McKinsey & Company.

Jacob Ma-Weaver holds a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature & Society and Economics, as well as a Master of Arts in Statistics, both from Columbia University. He is a CFA charterholder and has served on the boards of public companies including ARCA Biopharma, bringing his expertise in activist investing and shareholder value maximization to the field.
