Jonathan Lamensdorf

Jonathan Lamensdorf, CFA, is a Managing Partner and Portfolio Manager at Sagefield Capital LP, based in Dallas, Texas. At Sagefield, he oversees event-driven investment strategies, focusing on merger arbitrage and long/short equity across a broad array of sectors. His leadership involves directing a team in managing both commingled funds and separately managed accounts, with a significant concentration in event-driven opportunities such as corporate actions, mergers, and special situations.

Before co-founding Sagefield Capital in 2018, Jonathan spent 10 years at Highland Capital as a Portfolio Manager, where he led a six-person team managing the Highland Merger Arbitrage Fund and Highland Long/Short Equity Fund, each with over $1 billion in assets. He previously was a Senior Analyst at Walker Smith Capital, focusing broadly as a generalist, and also held analyst roles at Acharne Capital (a Soros Fund Management affiliate), Rhombus Capital, Precept Capital, Merrill Lynch, and Lehman Brothers.

Jonathan holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and graduated with highest honors with a BBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a CFA charterholder and is recognized for his expertise in event-driven equity strategies, merger arbitrage, and public market securities, contributing to the growth and performance of multi-billion-dollar investment platforms.
