Luke Trafton

Luke Trafton is Managing Director, Research and Trading at Context Capital Management, LLC, an alternative asset manager specializing in fixed income and relative-value strategies, where he leads research and trading initiatives across the firm's investment strategies. Based in New York, he focuses on convertible arbitrage, capital structure arbitrage, event-driven investments, and fundamental credit within public and private markets, with a particular expertise in equity-linked and derivative securities as well as volatility arbitrage.

Prior to this role, Trafton was Vice President at Context Capital Management, illustrating a rapid trajectory within the firm, and previously worked in Equity Derivatives Sales at Goldman Sachs, where he specialized in convertible bond sales and U.S. equity shares sales-trading, further honing his technical expertise in complex derivatives and credit-linked asset classes. He has additional experience in venture capital and sales management roles, adding to his abilities in client relationship management and entrepreneurial finance.

Trafton holds a degree in Economics and Chinese from The University of Chicago, providing a strong analytical foundation and global perspective. He is recognized for his insight into convertible bonds, equity and credit derivatives, and for driving research and trading processes in alternative investment management.
