Jed Nussbaum

Jed Nussbaum is the Founding Partner and Chief Investment Officer at Nut Tree Capital Management, LP, where he leads the firm’s investment strategies and manages day-to-day operations. Based in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, he launched Nut Tree Capital in June 2015, focusing on distressed credit, stressed credit, high yield, and value equities, particularly in North American markets and across small to mid-sized capital structures.

Nussbaum has over two decades of experience covering a broad range of sectors and asset classes, with particular expertise in distressed and special situations investing, event-driven equities, and corporate credit. Prior to founding Nut Tree, he was a Partner at Redwood Capital Management, a $5+ billion long-biased credit fund, where he managed investments across multiple industries and served as Deputy Portfolio Manager of the Redwood Opportunity Fund. Earlier in his career, he worked in the mezzanine debt group at Whitney & Co. and the High Yield Finance department at Chase Securities.

He holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.A. magna cum laude in Quantitative Economics from Tufts University. Nussbaum is recognized for his expertise in stressed and distressed debt, his disciplined approach to downside risk management, and his established track record investing over multiple credit cycles.
