Kyle Ryland

Kyle Ryland is a Managing Partner at Sumeru Equity Partners, where he leads investments in enterprise technology companies, with a particular focus on software and hardware sectors. He chairs the firm’s investment committee and is responsible for delivering Sumeru’s full resources to investors, portfolio companies, and team members. His investment approach combines active operational engagement with providing substantial growth capital, helping entrepreneurial teams scale their technology businesses.

Previously, Kyle served as a Partner at Shah Capital Partners, concentrating on mid-market technology private equity investments. He was also a Managing Director and Head of Global Technology Investment Banking at Lehman Brothers and held investment banking and venture capital roles at Robertson Stephens. Kyle’s expertise is rooted in more than two decades of private equity, venture capital, and M&A experience especially in technology-related sectors including fintech, real estate software, and telematics.

His significant achievements include co-founding Silver Lake Sumeru, the predecessor to Sumeru Equity Partners, and successfully managing high-growth investments such as Buildium, Kyriba, and Azuga. Kyle is widely recognized for his strategic vision and value creation in the technology investment arena, and has served as a director for several public and private companies in the software and enterprise technology spaces.
