William Dalby's questions to Wheaton Precious Metals Corp (WPM) leadership • Q4 2024
Question
William Dalby from Berenberg asked for clarity on Wheaton's internal expectations for the production profile at the Salobo mine out to 2030 and requested an update on any progress regarding a potential fourth line expansion at the asset.
Answer
President and CEO Randy Smallwood stated that Wheaton views Salobo's production as 'reasonably flat' for the near term around the 270,000-ounce level achieved in 2024, but noted significant long-term expansion potential. Executive Emma Murray added that partner Vale is publicly discussing a 'Salobo 3.5' expansion, which is not in Wheaton's current profile and would represent upside. VP, Mining Operations Wes Carson confirmed the expansion remains in the study phase.
