Prior to joining QCR Holdings, he held significant roles at Firstar Bank as Executive Vice President and Regional Commercial Banking Manager, as well as spending 12 years at Omaha National Bank, which contributed to his extensive experience in the banking sector.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Helling has been actively involved in community organizations, serving on boards such as United Way of East Central Iowa, Junior Achievement, and the Entrepreneurial Development Center, and has been a past President and member of the Rotary Club of Cedar Rapids.
