Bryan Shipley

Bryan Shipley is the Chief Investment Officer at Coldstream, an independent wealth management firm with over $11 billion in client assets. Based in Portland, Oregon, he leads the firm's investment strategy, oversees research, and develops customized and risk-mitigated investment solutions for clients. His role at Coldstream follows the firm’s 2024 merger with Arnerich Massena, where he served as co-CEO and CIO, notably building and leading research teams and establishing proprietary due diligence processes.

Shipley’s expertise spans traditional and alternative asset classes, including public equities, fixed income, private equity, private real assets, and hedge funds. He is recognized for designing multi-asset portfolio strategies tailored specifically to the unique values, goals, and risk tolerances of clients, such as high-net-worth individuals, endowments, and foundations. His significant contributions include the development of innovative investment strategies and enhanced manager due diligence frameworks to help mitigate portfolio risk.

Bryan Shipley began his investment career at Wurts & Associates (now Verus) with roles focused on research and due diligence. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Western Washington University, is a CFA® charterholder, and also holds the CAIA® designation, reflecting his deep experience in both traditional and alternative investments.
