Julia Mord

Julia Mord is Chief Investment Officer of Commonfund OCIO, headquartered in Wilton, Connecticut. In her current role, she leads the development and management of a comprehensive global investment program for nonprofit client accounts, chairing the Investment and Asset Allocation Committees and serving as a member of the executive group. She oversees strategic asset allocation and manager selection across a wide spectrum of sectors, including global equities, fixed income, hedge funds, marketable alternatives, and ESG-integrated portfolios.

Mord's investment expertise covers public markets, with an emphasis on U.S. microcap stocks and emerging markets, as well as active management strategies utilizing hedge funds and specialized equity managers. She is known for advancing technological innovation in investment operations and for her leadership in establishing ESG policies with a sustainability focus during her tenure managing Tulane University's $2.4 billion endowment. Previously, she held roles at AI International—managing multi-asset portfolios with substantial alternatives exposure—as well as positions at Jefferies and Ernst & Young.

Julia holds an MBA from The Wharton School, a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Chicago, and is a graduate of Stuyvesant High School. Her significant contributions to institutional investing include launching ESG frameworks at Tulane, using data-driven systems to improve portfolio management at Commonfund, and thought leadership on the future of AI and technology in asset management.
