Patrick O'Brien

Patrick O'Brien is a Research Analyst at Ancient Art LP (also known as Teton Capital), based in Dallas, Texas. In this capacity since 2013, he is responsible for generating differentiated investment research and making recommendations on public equities for a long/short equity fund. His current role centers on deep fundamental analysis, idea generation, and ongoing monitoring of portfolio positions, working closely with portfolio managers and other analysts.

He focuses primarily on the analysis of equities, with a particular emphasis on sectors such as energy, industrials, and other corporate markets, drawing on his extensive experience in these segments from prior roles. Before joining Ancient Art LP, Patrick was Research Manager, Corporate Markets at GLG Research, and earlier, a Senior Associate covering Energy and Industrials at GLG, providing him with a strong foundation in both sector-specific expertise and broad market research.

Patrick holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Boston College. He also studied at the University of Cape Town and graduated from Cristo Rey Jesuit High School. His educational and professional background has established him as a knowledgeable research analyst with deep expertise in equity investment, particularly in energy, industrials, and corporate sector research.
