Samir Chokshi

Samir Chokshi is a Partner at Antara Capital LP in New York, where he specializes in event-driven equities. In this role, he is responsible for identifying and managing investments in public companies undergoing significant catalysts such as mergers, restructurings, or management changes, leveraging over two decades of expertise in the hedge fund and investment industries.

His investment focus encompasses event-driven equities, particularly in sectors affected by transformational events, and he has managed portfolios across a broad spectrum of industries, including semiconductors, fintech, and technology. Beyond his responsibilities at Antara, Chokshi is an active early-stage investor and advisor to startups in enterprise software, consumer internet, and life sciences, as well as a member of New York Angels where he serves on fintech and blockchain committees.

Previously, Chokshi held portfolio management and analyst roles at leading firms such as Standard Investments (40 North), Polygon Investment Partners, and Sandell Asset Management, and began his career as a corporate attorney at Sullivan & Cromwell and as an M&A banker at Merrill Lynch. He holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting from the University of Florida, and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center; he also completed a federal clerkship with Judge Carl Stewart, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
