Mark Chin

Mark Chin is a Partner at Avoro Ventures, affiliated with Avoro Capital Advisors in New York, where he leads venture capital investment efforts focused on the life sciences and biotechnology sectors. In this role, he directs capital into private biotech companies developing innovative therapies and technologies, working alongside senior leadership and investment professionals to identify high-impact opportunities within the healthcare space.

Previously, Mark served as Managing Director at Arix Bioscience, where he specialized in both private and public biotech investments, successfully sourcing and leading ten private biotech deals that resulted in four IPOs, two reverse mergers, and two acquisitions. He has also held principal roles at Longitude Capital and worked in strategy consulting at Boston Consulting Group, in corporate development at Gilead Sciences, and in market planning at Genentech, all focused on biotechnology and medical technology investments.

Mark holds an MBA from The Wharton School, an MS in Biotechnology from the University of Pennsylvania, and a BS in Management Science from the University of California, San Diego. His expertise spans venture capital, business strategy, and corporate development in the healthcare and biotech sectors, with a strong track record of investment leadership in innovative therapeutics and life sciences technologies.
