David Witkin

David Alexander Witkin is the founder and managing partner of Beryl Capital Management LLC, a Los Angeles-based hedge fund specializing in merger arbitrage and event-driven investing. He leads the firm's investment strategy, focusing on hard catalysts and special situations surrounding corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and spin-offs.

Witkin has deep expertise in US-based corporate actions, leveraging market inefficiencies in deal-related events to generate alpha for clients. His sector focus is primarily on US equities undergoing reorganizations and M&A activity, and he employs a disciplined, research-driven approach to capture value in these specialized markets.

He holds a BA in Economics from Harvard University, where he began his career as an arbitrage analyst at Bear Stearns. Prior to founding Beryl Capital Management in 2013, Witkin served as a Portfolio Manager at Citigroup Alternative Investments and Hayground Cove Asset Management, as well as an analyst at Mason Capital Management.
