Puoya Tabaghi

Puoya Tabaghi is a Quantitative Researcher – Associate at Capital Fund Management (CFM), based in Paris, with a primary focus on the development of systematic trading strategies in quantitative finance. At CFM, he leverages his expertise in data science, statistical modeling, and machine learning to construct and optimize trading algorithms that operate across diverse markets, including equities, futures, and options, consistent with the firm's emphasis on scientific research and high-frequency trading within global asset classes.

Before joining CFM in 2025, Puoya conducted postdoctoral research at the Halıcıoğlu Data Science Institute and the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of California San Diego, where he worked on computational biology, differential geometry, and statistical signal processing. His academic research was largely motivated by questions in modeling, learning, and inference for complex systems, providing a solid foundation for his transition to quantitative finance.

Puoya holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Colorado State University, and dual B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering (Electronics and Telecommunications) from Amirkabir University of Technology. His research in quantitative finance and diverse technical background underscore his interdisciplinary approach to systematic trading and investment strategy development.
