Zahir Zaveri

Zahir Zaveri is Managing Director at FINEPOINT CAPITAL LP in New York, where he leads investment strategy and manages a team focused on special situations, distressed, and value-oriented credit investing. In his current role, he oversees portfolio construction, risk management, and sourcing of differentiated investment opportunities within the credit and event-driven space, particularly focused on the U.S. and global markets.

Prior to joining FINEPOINT, Zahir was a Portfolio Manager at Elliott Investment Management L.P., one of the world's largest multi-strategy hedge funds, where he managed complex public and private credit investments and developed deep expertise in distressed debt and opportunistic credit strategies. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Senior Research Analyst at King Street Capital Management, and began his finance career in the M&A group at Morgan Stanley, gaining comprehensive experience across both sell-side and buy-side roles.

Zahir earned his B.S. in Economics and Finance from the University of Pennsylvania and furthered his studies at The Wharton School, building a strong academic foundation for his work in financial markets. His notable achievements include leading landmark transactions in distressed credit and contributing to industry best practices in risk-adjusted return optimization across the capital structure. Zahir is recognized for his analytical rigor, leadership in credit investing, and contribution to the advancement of alternative asset management in the hedge fund space.
