Ed Shapiro

Ed Shapiro is the former Managing Partner and Portfolio Manager at PAR Capital Management, Inc., a prominent Boston-based investment management firm, where he served from 1997 to the end of 2016. During his tenure, he was responsible for overseeing investment strategy and portfolio management, with a particular focus on the media, communications, and airline sectors, which were core areas of expertise at the firm.

Prior to his role at PAR Capital, Shapiro's career included positions as Vice President at Wellington Management Company, and analyst roles at Morgan Stanley and Kayne Anderson Investment Management, providing him with broad experience across investment research and asset management. He has also held board positions with major companies such as United Airlines, US Airways, and Global Eagle Entertainment, reflecting his deep involvement in the transportation and communications industries.

Ed Shapiro holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management. Notably, following his retirement from PAR Capital at the end of 2016, he shifted his focus towards philanthropy, particularly refugee relief through the Shapiro Foundation, earning recognized distinction and several prominent nonprofit board roles in the process.
