Robert Pohly

Robert Pohly is the founder and portfolio manager at Samlyn Capital, LLC, a New York-based hedge fund specializing in equity-focused long/short, long-only, and market-neutral strategies. As the principal owner and managing member, Pohly oversees approximately $8 billion in client assets and leads all portfolio management activities, with a strong emphasis on fundamental analysis and active risk management.

Pohly's specific investment focus covers the financial, healthcare, and industrial sectors, reflecting his extensive background in these areas. Samlyn Capital manages discretionary portfolios with a flexible mandate, but its investment strategies primarily target U.S. and global equities, including concentrated positions in sectors such as alternative energy and technology.

Prior to founding Samlyn Capital in 2007, Pohly was a portfolio manager at Sigma Capital (a subsidiary of SAC Capital Advisors), Credit Suisse First Boston's proprietary investing group, and Tiger Management.
