Ravi Malik

Ravi Malik is Principal and Senior Portfolio Manager at SSI Investment Management/Froley in Beverly Hills, CA, where he leads the firm’s investment strategies and portfolio management activities. His role centers on managing SSI’s proprietary convertible securities portfolios, with a strong focus on both investment-grade and hedged convertible bond strategies for institutional clients, insurance companies, and ETFs.

Malik specializes in the convertible bond asset class, investing across sectors such as technology, health care, emerging markets, and cyclical industries like airlines, retail, and restaurants. His approach leverages convertible bonds to capture upside in growth markets while mitigating downside risk, consistently targeting opportunities in mid-cap growth companies (e.g., cloud software, genomics, ecommerce) and disruptive sectors. He has also been a key driver of SSI’s positioning in international convertibles and developing market issuers.

With over 25 years of experience, Malik previously served as Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager at Froley, Revy Investment Co before joining SSI in 2009. He holds an MBA in Finance from UCLA, a business administration degree from the Indian Institute of Management, and degrees in Economics and Mathematics from Punjab University. Malik is recognized as a CFA charterholder and is noted for his thought leadership in convertible securities and portfolio risk management.
