Matthew Whitehead

Matthew Whitehead is the Chief Operating Officer, Partner, and Director at Sylebra Capital based in Hong Kong, a position he has held since January 2016. In this leadership role, he oversees the firm's operations and strategic initiatives, working closely with a team specializing in fundamentally driven investment strategies. Sylebra Capital is recognized for its focused approach to investing in technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) sectors, where Matthew's oversight directly supports research and investment in these dynamic industries.

Prior to joining Sylebra, Matthew was the Head of Investor Relations at LIM Advisors, one of the longest-running Asian multi-strategy hedge funds, reflecting his expertise in investor relations, fund operations, and the broader hedge fund management landscape. His earlier experience includes senior roles as Vice President at Morgan Stanley Investment Management and Hedge Fund Analyst at ABN Amro Asset Management, providing him with a well-rounded understanding of asset management, operations, and alternative investments.

Matthew holds a BA (Hons) in Business/Finance from the University of Plymouth and attended The Judd School. Through a career spanning major international firms and leadership at Sylebra, he has contributed to the development of specialized investment strategies in global TMT equity markets, earning respect as a leading executive in Asia’s hedge fund industry.
