Shelley Neumeier

Shelley Neumeier is the Director of Research at Tensile Capital Management LP in New York, where she leads qualitative research and due diligence on prospective investments and portfolio companies. In this role, she is responsible for rigorous ESG analysis, in-depth industry research, and supporting the firm’s public and private equity investment strategies. Her work includes evaluating business fundamentals, management teams, and sector trends to inform investment decisions.

Shelley specializes in qualitative research across a range of sectors, with a particular emphasis on public and private equities. Her industry focus includes consumer, technology, and business services, serving as a critical resource for Tensile’s multi-sector investment approach. She applies investigative techniques learned in journalism to uncover insights that drive the firm's differentiated investment process.

Prior to joining Tensile at its inception, Shelley was a Principal at Blum Capital Partners and an Analyst in the manager selection group at Soros Fund Management, after starting her investment career at Blavin & Company. Earlier in her career, she was a reporter and investing editor for Fortune Magazine and a producer for CNBC Asia. Shelley is a graduate of Brown University, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and she also studied at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
