Nishant Gurnani

Nishant Gurnani is a Partner, Investments at Versor Investments in New York, where he leads the firm’s futures and FX research and drives the investment research agenda across all strategies. He works closely with Versor’s Investment Committee, applying advanced quantitative methods, alternative data analytics, and machine learning to strategy development, spanning from alpha signal generation to portfolio construction.

Gurnani’s specific investment focus centers on futures, foreign exchange, and global equity index derivatives, with responsibilities extending to developing and executing systematic strategies that employ alternative data, supervised machine learning, and natural language processing. He is integral to both hedge fund and risk premia offerings and is noted for innovations such as Versor’s tactical global equity trading (GET) and cross-sectional relative value programs, leveraging alternative datasets like credit card receipts and job postings to inform systematic trading decisions.

Previously, Gurnani worked as a Data Scientist at Brex and holds degrees from Princeton University and UC San Diego, having begun his education at the Brunswick School. He is recognized for his contributions to the application of AI and machine learning in quantitative asset management, promoting a research-driven culture and pioneering the integration of scientific methods into global investment strategy development.
