Stephen Mayhew

Stephen Mayhew is the Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer formerly at Capital Analysts, now part of the leadership team at Lincoln Investment. In this capacity, he is responsible for overseeing investment strategy, asset allocation, and due diligence across managed portfolios, supporting both institutional and advisor-driven clients.

With over 36 years of industry experience, Mayhew’s expertise spans the development and execution of strategic asset allocation models, mutual fund due diligence, and portfolio management. He has played a significant role in evaluating both active and passive investments, and applies a proprietary analysis program he developed for mutual fund selection—focusing on consistency, market cycle behavior, risk management, and long-term performance. His work encompasses multi-asset class portfolios with broad coverage of equities, fixed income, and alternative investment strategies.

Stephen holds a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University, an MBA from Drexel University, and is a graduate of the Securities Industry Institute Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds the CFA, CPA, and CFP® credentials, and has served as chairperson for the Financial Planning Association’s Financial Products Advisory Council, and as a FINRA arbitrator, highlighting his leadership and contributions to investment industry standards and best practices.
