Jeffrey Bronchick

Jeffrey Bronchick, CFA, is the founder, Principal, and Portfolio Manager at Cove Street Capital, LLC, an SEC-registered investment adviser based in the Los Angeles area. With more than 30 years of investment experience, he leads the firm’s classic, research-driven value strategies, focusing on concentrated equity investments across all market capitalizations. His approach emphasizes deep fundamental analysis, long-term value investing, and the identification of companies trading at significant discounts to intrinsic value.

Bronchick’s primary investment focus centers on small to mid-cap equities, with a history of involvement in all market capitalizations and extensive credit work throughout the corporate capital structure. He is recognized for his expertise in the application of rigorous value investing principles in U.S. public equity markets, particularly targeting sectors where mispricing or inefficiencies can be exploited with disciplined, index-agnostic strategies.

Prior to founding Cove Street Capital in 2011, Bronchick served as Chief Investment Officer and lead principal of Reed Conner & Birdwell, LLC, and held roles in equity research, sales, and trading at Neuberger Berman, Bankers Trust, and First Boston. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Economics and attended the London School of Economics, and has contributed industry insight as an early columnist for TheStreet.com and Grant’s Interest Rate Observer's online initiatives.
