Dave Dookie

Dave Dookie is the Managing Director at Waterloo Capital Advisors, based in Port of Spain. In this role, he oversees discretionary investment portfolios and leads corporate finance advisory transactions, driving the firm’s regional expansion across the Caribbean and into North America, the Bahamas, Cayman, and Jamaica. He specializes in structuring and executing deals in asset management, fixed income, structured products, and derivatives, supporting both private and institutional investors.

With over 22 years in the financial sector, Dave’s notable leadership experience includes founding Caribbean Money Market Brokers, managing group treasury at RBC Caribbean, and heading Structuring and Advisory at First Citizens Bank. There, he closed US$150 million in structured deal transactions and was instrumental in the US$550 million M&A transaction for the National Gas Company’s acquisition of Phoenix Park Gas Processors. His investment expertise includes mutual funds (spanning North America, Europe, Asia, and emerging markets), M&A advisory, and the creation and management of multi-asset investment vehicles.

Dave holds a Master of Science in Finance with Merit from the University of London and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics. He has also obtained an Executive Certificate in Investment Management from Harvard Business School, and a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Salford. He is a former Executive Director of the Securities Dealers Association of Trinidad and Tobago and brings deep regulatory and cross-border investment experience to his leadership at Waterloo Capital.
