Ron Peterson

Ron Peterson is a Portfolio Manager at The Banc Funds Company LLC, where he has served since 2008. In this role, he is responsible for generating investment ideas, conducting due diligence, supporting bank management teams, and modeling financial performance for banking companies, with a focus on those located primarily in the central and southwestern United States. His investment coverage is highly specialized, centering on small- and mid-cap banks and financial institutions in these geographic regions.

Before joining Banc Funds, Ron was a Senior Vice President and equity research analyst at Sterne Agee & Leach and Moors & Cabot, where he covered small- and mid-cap banking companies. Earlier in his career, he served as a bank examiner with the Comptroller of the Currency, giving him hands-on regulatory experience in the banking sector.

Ron holds a BS in Finance from St. Cloud State University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). His expertise in financial modeling and bank analysis, paired with his regulatory background, distinguishes his contributions in the investment management of community and regional banks.
