Brad Schatz is the founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Investment Officer of Maren Capital LLC, based in Chicago, Illinois. At Maren Capital, he leads a small, focused team employing a concentrated, long-term, intrinsic value investment strategy, overseeing approximately $2 billion in equity positions as of June 2025. Brad directs all investment research and portfolio management, specifically targeting high-quality businesses with strong compounding potential and trading below their intrinsic value.

Schatz’s investment approach centers on fundamental, bottom-up research in select sectors, particularly within U.S. equities. Maren Capital’s portfolio demonstrates a significant emphasis on industrial technology, electronic components, aerospace & defense, and precision manufacturing, with top holdings including Teledyne Technologies, Amphenol Corp, RBC Bearings, Heico Corp, and Ametek. This high-conviction strategy serves institutional and high-net-worth clients seeking absolute long-term capital growth.

Before founding Maren Capital in 2022, Brad served as President and Portfolio Manager at Port Capital LLC (2015–2021) and as Portfolio Manager at Snyder Capital Management (2006–2015). He holds a graduate degree from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and an undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado Boulder, reflecting his strong analytical foundation and deep expertise in equities and intrinsic value investing.
