Bryan Barrett

Bryan Barrett, CFA, is Senior Research Analyst and Director in the Investments Group at Brandes Investment Partners, serving as a member of the firm’s Investment Committee. Based in San Diego, he plays a key role in shaping research and investment decisions for global small-cap and U.S. small-cap strategies. His responsibilities include coverage of the global capital goods and commercial services sectors, as well as global banks, insurance, holding companies, and capital markets firms.

Bryan focuses on equity opportunities within the small-cap segment, analyzing companies worldwide including those outside traditional benchmarks in both developed and emerging markets. He is an active member of Brandes' Small-Cap Investment Committee and Corporate Governance and Proxy Voting Committees. Additionally, he serves as an advisory board member for The Brandes Center at UC San Diego’s Rady School of Management, underscoring his commitment to investment education and industry thought leadership.

Bryan began his career at Brandes in 2008 after completing the Research Associate program on the Financial Institutions Research Team. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Philosophy (with honors) from the University of Southern California. His analytical expertise and cross-sector coverage, combined with over 17 years of industry experience, have contributed meaningfully to the firm’s global equities research and investment process.
