John Loesch

John Loesch, CFA, is a Portfolio Manager and Co-Director of Research at Diamond Hill Capital Management, Inc., based in Dublin, Ohio. In his current role, he leads internal research efforts and contributes to portfolio management decisions, specializing in the firm's intrinsic value investment philosophy. He joined Diamond Hill in 2007 and currently helps guide research strategy and oversight for key investment strategies, having previously served as a research analyst.

Loesch's investment coverage spans multiple sectors with a primary focus on U.S. equities across various capitalizations; his expertise most closely aligns with the firm's strategies in small, mid, and large cap stocks. Earlier in his career, he worked as an analyst at Nationwide Financial and started as a financial advisor at UBS Financial Services, demonstrating broad experience in asset management and financial analysis.

He holds an MBA from the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business, a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Cincinnati, and additional study in public affairs at Indiana University Bloomington, as well as the study of Czech language and culture. As a CFA charterholder, Loesch is recognized for his leadership in research and development of investment talent, as well as his commitment to delivering client-focused, long-term investment results.
