Ali Toyran

Ali Toyran is a Portfolio Strategist at Frontier Asset Management, L.L.C., based in New York, NY. In this role, he oversees the research and construction of multi-asset portfolios, focusing on the selection and management of actively managed exchange-traded funds (ETFs) as part of the firm's risk-managed investment strategies. Toyran’s responsibilities include conducting quantitative analysis, manager due diligence, and optimization of asset allocation mixes to maximize risk-adjusted returns across Frontier’s Target Risk Unified Strategies and actively managed ETF suite.

His investment expertise covers a broad spectrum of asset classes, including equities, fixed income, commodities, and currencies, with or without prescribed asset allocation targets. Toyran applies advanced quantitative skills in analyzing relative performance across these classes and selecting ETFs that demonstrate manager edge and strong risk-adjusted profiles, particularly for turbulent market conditions.

Before joining Frontier in 2021, Toyran held roles as Credit Quant at CLS Group and Vice President, Quantitative Analyst, Market Risk at Morgan Stanley. He holds a Master of Engineering in Financial Engineering, a Certificate in Machine Learning, and a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research and Information Engineering from Cornell University, along with a science background from Robert College. Toyran is recognized for his contributions in multi-asset ETF strategy design and risk management using quantitative and machine learning approaches.
