Alex Spotswood is Senior Vice President, Acquisitions and Portfolio Management at Bailard, Inc., where he leads sourcing, acquisition, and overall portfolio management for the firm's real estate investments. His role involves identifying and securing new opportunities, monitoring performance, and enhancing the value of a diversified property portfolio, specifically in the multifamily housing sector and value-add, opportunistic, and development strategies.

Spotswood joined Bailard in 2016, following positions as an associate at Eastdil Secured's Debt Capital Markets team—where he helped structure commercial mortgage financings across asset types nationally—and as a portfolio analyst at SunTrust Investment Services. His career demonstrates a strong focus on institutional real estate investing and commercial transactions across the United States.

He holds an MBA in Real Estate Finance from UNC Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School and a BA in Commerce—Finance/Marketing from the University of Virginia. Spotswood’s expertise centers on multifamily real estate, portfolio optimization, and complex deal structuring, where he has contributed to industry best practices and portfolio growth for institutional investors.
