Michael Matousek

Michael Matousek is the Head Trader at U.S. Global Investors, where he leads the management of the firm's exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and mutual funds. In this role, he is responsible for researching, developing, and implementing quantitative investment strategies, as well as facilitating domestic and international equity trading, fixed income trades, and derivative transactions. His work is especially focused on specialized sectors including gold mining, precious metals, and global resources, as indicated by his involvement in discussions on gold mining stocks and his critical role in managing sector-specific ETFs.

With over 25 years of experience in the financial industry, Matousek has held senior positions such as Director of Institutional Sales and Trading at Terra Nova Trading and has served as a proprietary trader and head trader at various firms before joining U.S. Global Investors in 2008. He has also contributed strategic expertise as an Executive Board Member at Clementson Ranch and as a Partner at Texas Equities Trading LP.

Matousek holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysis with a minor in Accounting from Western Illinois University and is a Chartered Market Technician (CMT) with more than 18 years of certification. Renowned for developing and implementing quantitative trading strategies, he is recognized for his depth of expertise in equity, ETF, and sector-specific investment management, particularly within the gold, precious metals, and broader resources sectors.
