Cetf Michael Matousek

Michael Matousek is the Head Trader at U.S. Global Investors, based in San Antonio, Texas, where he has served since 2008. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the firm’s exchange-traded funds (ETFs), executing domestic and international equity trades, and managing derivative and fixed income trades. He plays a central role in researching, developing, and implementing quantitative investment strategies for both mutual funds and ETF accounts, with significant focus on the commodities, gold mining, and natural resources sectors.

Matousek brings nearly 25 years of comprehensive capital markets experience, having previously served as Director of Institutional Sales and Trading at Terra Nova Trading. He has also held leadership positions at M1 Consultants LLC and Texas Equities Trading LP and was an Executive Board Member at Clementson Ranch, further demonstrating his breadth of expertise in institutional trading and investment management.

A Chartered Market Technician (CMT) for over 18 years, Matousek holds a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysis with a minor in Accounting from Western Illinois University. His career highlights include building proprietary trading groups and contributing quantitative approaches that have helped shape U.S. Global Investors’ prominence in sector-focused funds, particularly in gold, precious metals, and global resource equities.
