Mike Whitfield

Mike Whitfield, CFA, serves as Director of Research and Portfolio Manager at Hahn Capital Management LLC in San Francisco. He leads the firm's investment research effort, driving the generation and analysis of new stock ideas, and is also actively involved in portfolio management decisions. Whitfield has been with Hahn Capital since May 2005 and became a Partner in 2008.

He specializes in the industrial technology, automation, and wireless equipment sectors, applying a disciplined, intrinsic value investment approach focused on mid-cap equities. Prior to joining Hahn Capital, Whitfield worked as an Equity Analyst at Wachovia Securities for six years, where he covered industrial tech and wireless equipment companies. Additionally, his background includes experience as a Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, with expertise in semiconductor memory architectures and processor addressing.

Mr. Whitfield earned his CFA Charter designation in 2001. He holds an MBA in Finance from Southern Methodist University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech. His significant contributions include a rigorous quantitative and qualitative research methodology and leadership in building high-conviction portfolios for institutional and high-net-worth clients.
