Akhil Subramanian

Akhil Subramanian is Principal and Portfolio Manager at Pzena Investment Management in New York, where he leads investment research and portfolio management with a focus on deep value strategies. He is responsible for managing portfolios such as the Vanguard Emerging Markets Select Stock Fund and Pzena Mid Cap Value Fund, demonstrating expertise in emerging markets, mid-cap, and large-cap equities.

Akhil's sector focus includes emerging markets equities, mid and large cap value stocks, and industries such as industrials, communication services, and utilities, using a disciplined, research-driven approach to identify undervalued companies with turnaround potential. His work frequently involves intensive fundamental analysis across global markets, particularly in equities undergoing cyclical or structural stress.

Prior to his current role at Pzena, Akhil held analyst positions at Pzena beginning in 2017 and at SLS Capital from 2014 to 2017, along with experience at Credit Suisse and TGG Group.
