Rex M

Rex M serves as Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Ramirez Asset Management, Inc. in Chicago, IL, where he oversees portfolio management for institutional and high net worth clients. He is responsible for implementing and managing customized investment strategies covering a wide spectrum of fixed income securities including U.S. Treasuries, mortgage-backed securities (both RMBS and CMBS), asset-backed securities, investment grade and high yield corporate bonds, municipal bonds, as well as managing assets for Ramirez's government money market and core bond mutual funds.

His investment focus centers on fixed income markets, with expertise in constructing targeted portfolios using strategies such as short duration, intermediate core, long duration, and liability-driven investment programs. Rex manages portfolios with exposure to sectors including government securities, agency debt, mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities, and both taxable and tax-exempt municipal bonds, handling mandates ranging from strategic sector allocations to highly customized client solutions.

Prior to joining Ramirez Asset Management in 2023, Rex held senior investment roles at Thomas White International for over a decade, advancing from Vice President to Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager, where he contributed to the firm’s international and global investment strategies. He holds professional accounting and management degrees from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India and the Institute of Management Accountants, providing him with deep expertise in portfolio accounting, risk analysis, and quantitative investment approaches.
