Mary Throop

Mary Throop is the founder, President, and CEO of Summerhill Capital Management, based in Toronto, where she oversees all aspects of firm management including investment strategy, governance, and regulatory compliance. She serves a select group of ultra-high-net-worth individuals and family offices, focusing on delivering bespoke global investment solutions. Her responsibilities include portfolio management, ethical oversight, and board-level governance.

Mary has a distinguished background in global equity markets, having served as Managing Director of the International Equities group at CIBC World Markets and as Senior Partner at Laketon Investment Management before founding Summerhill. Her expertise centers on global equities as well as multi-asset investment strategies tailored to institutional and private clients. She has also contributed to industry governance through directorships and committee roles at organizations such as the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance and the Toronto CFA Society.
