Eric Kalmbach

Eric Kalmbach serves as Vice President - CRE Equity at Waterfall Asset Management LLC, where he leads equity investment initiatives within the commercial real estate (CRE) sector. Based in Dallas, Texas, he is responsible for sourcing, underwriting, and managing private equity and venture capital investments with a focus on CRE opportunities. His role involves strategic oversight of real estate equity transactions and portfolio management for institutional clients.

Kalmbach possesses significant expertise in commercial real estate, private equity, and venture capital, specifically dealing with asset classes such as multifamily, office, and mixed-use properties. Prior to joining Waterfall Asset Management in May 2017, he held the position of Senior Vice President at FirstCity Financial Corp., where he managed distressed asset acquisitions and oversaw loan portfolio investments for over a decade.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Personal Financial Planning from Texas Tech University, providing a strong foundation in financial analysis and investment strategy. Throughout his career, Kalmbach has been recognized for his contributions to CRE equity investment and his leadership in structuring complex transactions across the real estate and private equity sectors.
