John Montgomery

John Montgomery serves as Managing Partner, Portfolio Strategist, and Chief Operating Officer at Westfield Capital Management in Boston, MA. In this capacity, he is a key member of the Investment Committee and chairs the firm’s Operations and Risk Management Committee, leading strategy and playing a critical role in governance, risk oversight, and overall firm management. Westfield Capital specializes primarily in U.S. growth equity investing across all segments of the market capitalization spectrum, with products focused on domestic growth equities as well as select foreign equities traded on U.S. exchanges.

Montgomery joined Westfield in 2006 after holding senior equities roles at Lehman Brothers, J.P. Morgan, and Morgan Stanley, building deep expertise in equity markets and institutional asset management. His background has shaped his focus on fundamental growth-oriented equity strategies and risk management within institutional portfolios. From overseeing portfolio strategy to integrating risk controls, he has contributed to the firm’s disciplined investment process targeting long-term value for institutional and high net worth clients.

He holds an M.M. in Finance and Accounting from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a B.A. in Economics from Trinity College. Known for his leadership in firm culture and community engagement, Montgomery is also active on nonprofit boards in Boston, reflecting his commitment to both industry and civic impact.
