Brett Slattery

Brett M. Slattery, CFA is the Chief Investment Officer, Director of Research, and Equities Portfolio Manager at Willis Investment Counsel, based in Atlanta, Georgia. In his current role, he oversees the firm's investment research and portfolio management activities, managing the Core Equity (large-cap) strategy and serving on the firm’s investment committee. He is responsible for guiding the firm's investment process, policy development, and client portfolio design, with a focus on institutional mandates including corporations, endowments, foundations, and retirement plans.

Mr. Slattery specializes in the management of U.S. large-cap equities, leading the Core Equity strategy and contributing to portfolio construction for other strategies such as managed volatility and income funds. His expertise is centered on equity securities with particular focus on risk management, long-term capital growth, and enterprise-specific investment needs for institutional clients.

With over a decade of experience at Willis Investment Counsel, Mr. Slattery previously served as Director of Research and has held senior roles in portfolio management at Harris SBSB/BMO Financial Group and as an equity research analyst at Abingdon Capital Management. He holds an MBA from Georgetown University McDonough School of Business, a BBA from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and advanced certifications in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, and business analytics from The University of Texas at Austin. He is a CFA charterholder and recognized for his analytical leadership and commitment to objective, research-driven investing.
