Howard Baier

Howard Baier is a Principal at Bardin Hill Investment Partners LP, a New York-based institutional investment firm focused on credit, special situations, and stressed/distressed investing. In his role, he is responsible for sourcing, analyzing, and managing investments, primarily within corporate credit, senior secured bank loans, and complex capital structures across a variety of industries.

Since joining Bardin Hill in 2014, Baier has developed expertise in identifying value and risk in credit and special situation strategies, contributing to the firm's leadership in these asset classes. Prior to Bardin Hill, Baier worked as an Investment Banking Analyst at J.P. Morgan, where he focused on financial analysis and deal execution, building a strong foundation in financial markets and structured finance.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance with a minor in Russian from New York University’s Stern School of Business. Baier is recognized for his analytical rigor and deep sector knowledge—including leveraged finance, event-driven investments, and distressed debt—making him an integral part of Bardin Hill’s investment team.
