Carl Simon

Carl Simon is the Head of Trading at Freestone Grove Partners, a leading investment firm headquartered in New York City. In this role, he oversees all trading operations, providing leadership in trade execution and strategy implementation across the firm's portfolios, with a focus on integrating both fundamental insights and quantitative approaches.

He brings deep experience in equities and capital markets, having previously led trading and portfolio implementation at Citadel, one of the world’s most prominent alternative asset managers. At Freestone Grove Partners, Simon is responsible for trading across multiple asset classes, with a particular emphasis on equities, equity derivatives, and related capital markets instruments, supporting a range of sector-focused investment teams.

Simon earned his degree from Penn State, and throughout his career, he has been recognized for driving operational efficiency and advancing the technological sophistication of trading desks.
