Christian Alejandro Asmar is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Impactive Capital LP, an ESG-focused activist hedge fund based in the United States. In this role, he leads strategy formation, investment selection, and engagement with public companies to drive operational improvements, capital allocation optimization, and material ESG initiatives. Asmar focuses on both long and short positions across U.S. and international equities and debt, with emphasis on sectors including technology, energy, transportation, and social infrastructure.

Before establishing Impactive Capital, Asmar was a Managing Director and Investing Partner at Blue Harbour Group, where he led activist investments and advised on capital allocation and ESG strategy. He was also a founding member of Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners, working on major investments and board roles related to energy, transportation, and infrastructure assets. Earlier, he worked in Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking division specializing in project financings, particularly in emerging markets.

Asmar serves on the board of Avid Technology and is a member of the New America Alliance. He graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University with a B.S.E. in Operations Research & Financial Engineering, holding minors in Finance, Engineering & Management Systems, and Robotics & Intelligent Systems. His career is distinguished by significant achievements in activist investing, ESG-driven value creation, and leadership in the infrastructure and technology sectors.
