Robert Toth

Robert Toth is the Head of Trading and Technology at Quest Partners LLC (formerly known as AlphaQuest), based in New York, NY, a position he has held since July 2014. In this capacity, he oversees trading operations and the integration of technology to execute systematic, quantitative investment strategies across global futures and derivatives markets, with a primary focus on volatility management, tail risk, and strategy development in liquid, exchange-traded asset classes.

Toth’s career began at AlphaQuest in 2004 as a Research and Trading Associate, where he progressed to Head Trader, gaining expertise in systematic trading, technology implementation, and quantitative research. Between 2010 and 2014, he served as the Head of Trading at Vegasoul LLC, leading global trading and research efforts before returning to Quest Partners/AlphaQuest as Head of Trading.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Columbia University and an MBA (with Honors with Distinction) from Columbia Business School. Noted for his significant contributions to quantitative futures trading and risk management, Toth is recognized for advancing research in alpha generation, volatility expansion, and crowding effects, making Quest Partners a leader in systematic macro strategies and portfolio diversification.
